Hotel Clementin Old Town Prague

The house number 176/4 at the Virgin Mary from the year of around 1360 (later also called "At Our Nice Lady") is a very small ( 3.28 m!), biaxial, three-storey house, located in a crooked Seminárská street.
The house was surely developed by an extra division of a larger adjacent building, even if the history of this building is very unsure. Modern modifications of late classicist façade have given the building its modern aspect: a Gothic cellar with a strange huge wall is the oldest part of the structure, where there is also a part of a stony and medieval vault remained.

The adjacent house number 175 was probably the cellar space and until 1433 the two structure were linked together. Probably, in the 16th century, the frontal part of Semáøská street was built up. After 1627 the house had the same façade. With the Renaissance an extra floor was built and probably between the end of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century the house began to be completely independent. A 3rd floor was also built. A sand-stone Baroque ribbon portal with a transom light frames the entrance of the house.
